Today's speaker was Clive Barwell who spoke for a second time on the prctial implications of the Care Act 2014.
He gave an overview of the new rules, issues relating to capital, income definitions and the relevance of pension income when assessments are made about support.
He defined the Access to Attendance Allowance and the amounts over 65s may receive. He recommended Age Concern as an appropriate place for advice.
He answered a number of questions about care home versus nursing home definitions, respite care, discretionary trusts and inheritance tax.
