Bedpans and False Teeth

Today's speaker was Denise Adlard who spoke about "Bed pans and False teeth" reflecting on her 40 years and 1 week in the NHS as a nurse and later a manager. She noted that she wanted to be a nurse since the age of 4.

Her talk ranged from her first embarrassing moment of finding her ex English teacher astride a bed pan in her first ward to her many years as a district nurse in and around West Yorkshire. Her time on the Men's "bits and pieces ward" and experiences visiting farms, getting stopped by the police and many other humorous experiences were entertaining and supported by photos badges and certificates she accumulated over the years.
